Spreading Kindness and Positivity at Warsaw Public School
The school hallways at Warsaw Public School aren鈥檛 just squeaky clean thanks to the hard work and exceptional service of Penny Kasaboski, Head Custodian - they are also buzzing with positivity and kindness!聽Described as 鈥渁 bright ray of sunshine,鈥� Penny is recognized for her team spirit and the positive energy that she brings to the school community each and every day.
Principal Nicole Lees shares some of the ways that Penny brightens the days of both students and staff at Warsaw PS.聽
鈥淧enny Kasaboski, or Miss Penny to our students, goes beyond her duties as Head Custodian and keeping our school clean. She can be heard in the hall greeting all the students by their name and giving words of encouragement. She can be found on her break putting up inspirational messages on empty bulletin boards or doing something extra for a teacher or student,鈥� says Nicole.
One of the aspects Penny enjoys most about her job is forming connections with each of the students and making sure they have a clean and safe space to learn and play.聽
鈥淚 love working the day shift with the rest of the staff and students.聽 I watch the magic happen in all of the classrooms throughout the entire school.聽 I observe the staff and students learning side by side and I get to glimpse some of the lightbulb moments,鈥� says Penny.聽
In her daily interactions with staff, Penny makes it a priority to remind them that they are making a positive difference - sharing the many ways she鈥檚 watched students grow between September and June. Penny also strives to聽 promote confidence among students, by cheering them on and regularly sharing words of encouragement and inspiration. 鈥淚 like to see people happy and exploring their creative side. I try to let them know that all of us can shine bright, in our own ways,鈥� she adds.聽
No matter what the day brings, Penny is committed to maintaining a safe, clean and welcoming school environment. A true team player, 鈥淧enny鈥檚 motto is 鈥楲et鈥檚 work as a team!鈥� and she always does,鈥� says Nicole.
