KPR School and Child Care Update for April 4, 2025

We are pleased to share that power has been restored to almost all KPR schools.听 We also recognize that there are still many students, families and staff members who continue to deal with the challenges of prolonged power outages.听

Schools and child cares are open tomorrow, Friday, April 4, except for the following two closures due to ongoing power outages:

COUNTY OF PETERBOROUGH

Buckhorn Public School
Warsaw Public School

The schools identified for closure will remain closed tomorrow for the day, even if power is restored at sites later this evening or overnight.听

As always, families should check 听 for the most up to date daily transportation information, including any individual route cancellations.

We continue to express our appreciation for everyone鈥檚 continued patience and understanding, and extend our great thanks to the utility, municipal and emergency service workers in local communities who continue to manage power restoration and clean-up efforts.

Principals and Vice-Principals

The 好色tv District School Board follows a Principal/Vice-principal recruitment process for the positions of Elementary and Secondary Principal and Vice-principal, this consists of two different recruitment processes for two different pools.

Process/ Pool One:听 Elementary and Secondary Principal and Vice Principal, recruiting in the fall and winter (as needed)

Candidates are invited to attend the "Aspiring Principal/Vice-principal Information Session" which is held shortly after the ATE posting is issued. Please contact Anne Morton by email at Anne_Morton@kprdsb.ca听for more information.

Your completed application package, submitted to ATE must contain the following documents:

  1. Your completed ATE profile and application form
  2. Cover letter
  3. Resume
  4. Your most current Teacher Performance Appraisal (for Vice-principal applicants) or Principal Performance Appraisal (for Principal applicants)

The Interview Selection Committee will determine who will proceed to the Interview Stage using a consistent process and scoring system

Reference Check Forms will be reviewed after the interview.

The Interview Selection Committee and the Human Resources Department will review the findings from each stage to determine whether candidates will be successful or unsuccessful.

Successful and unsuccessful candidates will be notified, and internal candidates will be provided a debriefing upon request.

Successful candidates will be placed on a 鈥淪hort List鈥� for a three-year term. As vacancies arise, Senior Administration will place candidates based on the needs of the system.

Process/Pool Two: Occasional Retired Administrators (Principals and Vice-Principals) - Occasional/Supply, recruitment is usually ongoing.

Details are posted on听听(ATE) during each recruitment period. Fully qualified individuals are invited to complete the application found in ATE and submit by the deadline indicated in the posting.

Only complete application packages received electronically within the timelines indicated for the current school year will be considered by the Interview Selection Committee.
