Teaching Positions

A Police Records Check, including a Vulnerable Sector Search and Pardoned Sexual Offenders Database Search, valid within six months from the date of hire, is a condition of employment with the Board. Please note that there have been reports that it may take up to six weeks to process police records checks in some jurisdictions.ÌýWith that in mind, we strongly suggest that candidates obtain a police screening as soon as possible.

Schools, Human Resources and the Education Centre do not accept or retain unsolicited paper or electronic resumes.

Permanent Teacher Positions

Permanent Teacher positions are posted in accordance with the current Teachers' Collective Agreement. Internal eligible applicants must be permanent teacher bargaining unit members who can accommodate the position with their existing position (if any). Teachers currently on the occasional teacher list may apply for later consideration. Where there is no successful internal applicant, the position will be posted externally.

Long Term Occasional Teacher positions are posted in accordance with the current Occasional Teachers' Collective Agreements. Internal eligible applicants must be on the current occasional teachers list. Permanent teacher bargaining unit members who can accommodate the position with their existing position (if any), may also apply. Where there is no successful internal applicant, the position will be posted externally.

External Applicants

You must be a certified teacher registered with the Ontario College of Teachers to apply for external job postings. When recruiting for jobs open to external candidates, we advertise onÌýÌý(´¡°Õ·¡)

We encourage you to sign up for the Job Alert feature to be notified when our Board posts jobs on the network.Ìý In order to be considered for an interview, please ensure that the documents listed below are uploaded toÌýÌýas part of your application package:Ìý

  • Certificate (or Interim) of Qualification (if available)
  • Practicum Reports or Teacher Evaluation
  • Reference Letters

Please note:ÌýÌýIf you are planning to return to Ontario after working overseas or out of province, we strongly recommend that you obtain:

  • A Police Records Check with Vulnerable Sector Search and/or a search of the Pardoned Sexual Offenders Database from the police department in your current location (covering the time frame you were there)
  • A record of teaching/work experience from your current employer that includes the percentage of time worked, the type of assignment (contract, LTO, etc.), the subject/grades taught/position held, and the start and end date of the assignment.Ìý This letter must be signed by an official of the organization and be printed on their official letterhead.

We recommend that you do this prior to returning to Canada or Ontario in order to avoid lengthy delays in your application process to KPRDSB.
