The Board understands that its continuous improvement requires the creation and maintenance of safe, fair, nurturing, positive and respectful working and learning environments.

It is important that the public school system acknowledges both the freedom of religion that is protected by the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, and the protection from discrimination and harassment based on religion that is part of the Ontario Human Rights Code.
